Basic information
Tsung is a Vancouver-based artist with a Chinese and Canadian heritage. She grew up in Calgary, Alberta. She had been drawing since she was very young, but never took any formal art classes until college. Comic books and magazines surrounded her as a child, cementing her interest in representing powerful women.
Education
"What actually got [Tsung] to go to art college was the decision that [she] never wanted to take a math or chemistry class ever again." She studied figure drawing and painting classes at the Alberta College of Art and Design. These primary skills gave her a wider range of skills in which to covey her ideas. Because of the mixed messages and the wide variety of styles at school, it took a little while before she found her style.
Style
Tsung is can be considered a pop surrealist who has a very unique style of her own. She tends to paint of wooden panels, using the grain to help determine the piece's composition.
